All,

From the Input Contribution, section 3, there are the following 3 proposals:

1. The Text at the start of OMA-TEMPLATE-TestFilesPkg should be modified to mirror the text in the OMA Use Agreement and allow the use for “commercial purposes”.
2. The documents 3 should be added to the OMA-TEMPLATE-TestFilesPkg template and placed in a suitable location on the OMA portal.
3. In document 3, “IBM” should be replaced by “OMA”.

Proposals 1 and 2 should be done, however, it is not possible to make changes to the TTCN_Common_Public_License_V1.txt.  Information regarding the Common Public License may be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Public_License.

I believe I understand the issue now.  For the record, it was my decision to hold up the review until I understood the matter more fully.
As I understand it, the committee is looking for a unified legal preamble.  If you would review the documents, I would be grateful.

Hi Ann,

Thank you for you speedy reply.
I have no idea why this would be on hold. But I will take this up with Seth in the morning.
From the mail sequence I can only imagine that Rick did not get a mail out because his wife was in hospital and Joaquin wanted to wait for Seth. Well Seth is back so I trust we can proceed tomorrow.

Dear Martin,

Thank you for your voice message today and your e-mail below.  My understanding from discussion with Seth was that this was on hold.  Please see the August 12, 2010 e-mail correspondence below.  If this is not correct, please let me know and I will review this immediately as I understand you are meeting in Budapest now.

Best regards,

Ann

Dear Ann,

In IOP we need legal advise on the use of OMA owned TTCN3 code by member companies.
In this case Spirent (lawyers) are proposing changes to 3 inconsistent OMA templates for this purpose.
I believe Rick Brunner has forwarded this to you for advise on the BOD-IOP budget and also Seth Newberry is aware of the problem.

I am looking for an OK from you to forward this to REL for implementation.
Best regards,

Hi Ann,
It seems that there have been a misunderstanding; I was told that you were already studying the suggested changes.

In that case it is better to wait for Seth. I will provide him with a feedback first, and then we can set up a meeting with you sometime next week.

Thanks for your feedback.
Regards,
Joaquin

Hi, Joaquin,

It sounds from your e-mail below that this is a matter for which the IOP TTCN group has been waiting for a reply and if so, I was not aware of this.  I have a fairly extensive file on TTCN from 2009.  I would like to get additional information from you as to what is needed in this review.  It may be a good idea to set up a call next week when Seth is back in his office.  Alternatively, I would be happy to speak with you this Friday if this requires earlier review.

Regards,

Ann
